Screed Floor Tolerances – How Flat Does The Floor Need To Be?

Surface Regularity

Max Deviation from a 2m straight edge in contact with the floor
Application

SR1

+/-3mm
High standard: for commercial and industrial buildings

SR2
+/-5mm
Normal standard: for commercial and industrial buildings

SR3
+/- 10mm
Standard: for other floors, where regularity is less critical.

Surface Regularity

Max Deviation from a 2m straight edge in contact with the floor
Application

SR1

+/- 3mm
Normally required for vinyl’s and some tiles with thin bedding grouts.

SR2
+/- 5mm
Acceptable for most tiles, carpets and wood floors

SR3
+/- 10mm
Acceptable where a deep bed will be applied to the surface such as tiles with 15mm grout bedding.

Always Check With Your Floor Finishing Contractor What Surface Regularity Your Floor Finishes Will Require.
